BABY MO AND BIG BILLY

Hello all, I just wanted to pop some pic's up of baby Mo. Unfortunately her other 3 Brother's and Sister have died over the past few days so we only have little Mo left. She is so beautiful and I am praying with all my might that she is strong enough to survive.

Mo has her teddy which she has been snuggling up to to keep warm along with a heat pad and lots of blankets!!!.

The story behind little Mo and her siblings were they nearly got burnt to death on a bonfire. A couple had decided to knock their shed down in their garden. They found what they thought was an old hedgehog nest (baffled why they didn't bloody well check to see if there was anything still occupying it!). They threw it onto the bonfire ready to light the following day. Twelve hours passed before they got ready to light the fire only to be stopped by the 4 babies squealing inside the nest. Had they not made themselves heard they would have been burnt alive.

The babies actually made it into the local newspaper with the Rescue Centre (WRAS) giving out warnings to people. I feel sad for the Mum too as she has either been scared off by all of the commotion or she was out searching for food when it was all going on.

Please keep everything crossed that this little baby survives. I will take photo's and updates coming.

Some super news is that I got one of my casualties back yesterday!!!. I found him in the garden about 4 weeks ago and he had some nasty head trauma. Billy ended up losing his right eye but he is as fit as a fiddle and I successfully released him at dusk last night. He got a big cuddle and a pep talk before he was released!!! he knows he always has a home and food here and whenever he is in trouble to come get me!!!.

Sorry the picture's aren't great but the light was not good. Billy is such a beautiful soul and hopefully he will live out the rest of his hoggy life fit and well.

Thanks for stopping by and hope all of my friends are well.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Hello my lovelies, hope everyone is having a good Sunday. I am really chuffed as just seen that I have made the Daily Talent Spot on Joanna Sheen's challenge blog. It is for my flower's and fairies card on the post below.

I would like to say HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to my lovely Dad today. He is such a great Dad and I feel so blessed to have him in my life. It has not been easy since losing Mum but he is always there for us kids and will do anything for us.

I made a card for Dad. I have kept it pretty simple as Dad is a no frills type of guy!!!. He loves his gardening so thought this LOTV stamp would be appropriate.

I would like to enter the card into the following challenges;

CHARIZMA CARDZ - Male cards
CRAFT PUNKED - Father's Day
DREAM VALLEY CHALLENGES - For that special guy
WHIMSY INSPIRES - Button & bows
FUSSY & FANCY - Boy attitude

C.R.A.F.T CHALLENGES - Father's day
MY CRAFT SPOT - Special Dad
CARFTS 4 ETERNITY - Dashing Dad's
THE PINK ELEPHANT - Masculine

I know that this must be a really hard day for those who's Dads are no longer with us. I know I struggle on Mother's Day. You are all in my thought's and I am sending my love.

Thank you for stopping by and have a good Sunday.

Ummm in yesterday's post I mentioned that I do not have any casualties or babies here at the moment apart from my two furry kids. Keeping everything crossed that all 4 will be here but going by what Monica has told me about how they came to her they sound like real little fighter's. I will fill you in on their story next week.

GET WELL SOON

Hello my lovelies. Hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying this little break from the rain.
I have another card to share with you today. I made it for my lovely neighbour who recently had an op so wanted to share the love and cheer her up.

It is a gatefold card. I have used a cute LOTV image and used this gorgeous olive gingham card. Flowers are from Wild orchid.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

WILD ORCHID - Anything goes
TUESDAY THROWDOWN - Critters

Lots of my lovely friends have been asking about whether I have any casualties or babies that I am looking after at the moment. The answer is no, I have my two furry babies, Bert & Simone but all is quiet on the western front at the moment. I can get a call any time or find an emergency even in my garden but at the moment it is all peaceful. I promise though you will all be the first to know as soon as I have any!!!. It is lovely having a break and I am getting plenty of creating done too. I do miss having different creatures here though!.

Ok guys only 10 days to go before the big candy draw. Remember you can win a £20 gift voucher from the choice of three different crafty shops. To enter and for the rules just click HERE!!!.

Thank you for stopping by today and as always I really do appreciate your lovely comments.

YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS

I have made this card for a very special lady who is going through the worst possible thing that anyone can go through. I know that it will not make everything all right but just want to show her that we all care for her and to show my support.

Make sure that you tell all of your loved one's how much you love them every day. Don't dwell on things in life that really do not matter. Life is too short so make the most of each and every day.

Take care my friends

LORRAINE'S CHRISTMAS CARD CLUB CHALLENGE

Hi there everyone. Well what a miserable day it has been, although it is definitely good for my garden which was beginning to look like the Sahara Desert!. I had another casualty this afternoon, a poorly pigeon. I went out to throw some nuts and seed out to the growing flock outside and I noticed this one was acting peculiarly, almost as if he was dazed and rather wobbly on his feet. I kept an eye on him and after a while I walked over to him and he allowed me to pick him up. This is a sure sign that something isn't right. I brought him in, dried him off and popped him into the carrier. Poor little thing just sat huddled and kept closing his eyes.
I decided to ring the rescue centre for advice and after chatting with them they decided to send someone out to collect him. After examining him we suspect he may have hit a window or crashed into something. There is nothing visible but he was very cold and unresponsive, as though he doesn't care what anyone does to him. They took him off and they will bring him back when he is recovered.
I am definitely starting to feel like an animal whisperer lol!!!. It is strange as I had been doing my housework and was in the kitchen and one of the pigeons flew onto the fence outside the kitchen window. It was only because of that that I decided to go throw more food out for them at that time as I felt sorry for the pigeon!!!. If I had not I may not have seen the poorly pigeon. Fate?????.

Anyway enough waffling. The lovely Lorraine picked this past fortnight's challenge for the Christmas Card Club. The theme was to use a sentiment as the focal point of the card. Although I was late getting my card done I ended up making 3 cards!!!. They are not spectacular but another three to add to my expanding supply.

I really love this sentiment stamp and used it for all three cards. The stamp is from a fantastic company called Stamping all Day. They sell awesome sentiment stamps and I have a few now. The yummy backing paper on the last two cards are by Imaginisce.

Go check out the other girls cards which are listed on my side bar. If you are interested in joining our Christmas club just email me or one of the girls for information.

Right must get back to the craft room as got a few cards to make.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you enter my candy give away which is a £25 voucher. All you need to do is be a follower and add a comment to the allocated post.

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

Happy Sunday my friends. Hope everyone is well. I am just getting ready for the little visitors to be collected. I feel quite sad as the piggies are so beautiful. Also it will be the last time I will see little Sam squirrel before he goes out into the big wide world. There has been plenty of hugs and fusses today.

I am going to share a card with you which has taken me all week to make!!! that is how little time I have had to create and I also have a bad infection in my right thumb so have been in agony with that the past few days. I am really happy with it though and sometimes taking one's time can be good!!!.

I have decorated the inside of the card too and added one of the bears which I have layered. I have made it for my lovely Sister's Birthday in a couple of weeks time. Hope she likes it!.

INGREDIENTS
WHITE & RASPBERRY BAZZILL CARD
SASSAFRAS "CHERRY DELICIOUS" PATTERNED CARD
LOTV TEDDY BEAR & SENTIMENT STAMPS
WILD ORCHID POPPY AND HAT PINS
KAISER BLING
DOILY FROM STASH
PROMARKERS (TAN, SANDSTONE, VANILLA, IVORY AND CARAMEL)
FLEXMARKER (LIGHT FAWN)
CIRCLE NESTIES

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

CRAFTY CREATIONS CHALLENGE - Running in circles
LILI OF THE VALLEY  - Anything goes
LETS INK IT UP - Favourite embellishment (ribbon and flowers)

I now need to get back into the craft room as I still haven't made my Christmas Card Club card which is due today (sorry girls!!!).

UPDATE

Im so sorry that it has been a few days since my last post. It's not been a very good week as unfortunately baby Ben died a couple of days ago. I was quite surprised as he seemed to be doing really good. I know that I did everything that I could for the little fella and there was nothing that I could have done to prevent his death. I think sometimes no matter how much we can do for them their Mummies are still the best to get them through their early days of life. I am so glad though that he died being warm, comfy and loved very much.
I put him into a tiny matchbox amongst cotton wool and me and Martin buried him by the gooseberry bush around the hedgie cabins in the garden. Amazing how something so tiny can touch your life.

Anyway I am going to share some happy stuff now. I know you have all been asking how Harry is!!!.

My gorgeous little Harry is now at the rescue centre as the treatment he was receiving through the vets was not helping. He is receiving the proper medication now and is doing really good. He will be coming back to me as soon as he is given a full clean bill of health. I will let you all know as soon as he is back.

Now for some more pic's of the littlies I am looking after at the moment.

This is little Sam and he is 10 weeks old. He was found in someone's garden laying on the ground. He had some bad head injuries. There was no sign of Mum or any siblings so how he got there is a mystery. Sam is doing amazingly and is such a happy boy, so funny and cheeky. Despite being on his own he is so with it and jumping, climbing and has a massive appetite!!!. When we can we are going to try pair him up with another squirrel/s as they are not solitude creatures unlike hedgehogs. He will eventually be released but only when the circumstances are right for him.

Yay I have got the guinea girls again!!! I am looking after them for Monica as she has gone away for a much needed break. I absolutely love looking after Piggy, Sassy, Blossom & Petal. They are so beautiful placid little things. I have been thoroughly spoiling them (I got them that hay roll!) and with plenty of fruit & veg.

Onto hoggie rescues I have had three in the last 2 weeks. One found in my shed and the other two at the food station. I had to get the rescue centre to come out to all three as they were emergencies. One hoggy had head injuries, another with mange and lung worm and Monday night I found one with a nasty wound by his hind leg and when he was collected and examined we found he had fly strike on him which if not treated is a very slow and painful death.

So all is busy here at the bungalow. Although I am very tired and suffering from a very painful infected thumb (now on antibiotics) it is so well worth it to look after these gorgeous creatures.

I cannot forget about my two beautiful babies so here's a couple of pic's to share.

Here's my Bertie boy who absolutely adores all of the animals here, especially the guinea piggies. He sits down by their pen just watching them and pushes his face against the netting and the piggies come up and sniff him, so cute!!!.

Here's my beautiful girl Simone in a playful mood. She gets a bit jealous of all of the animals so I make sure she gets buckets of love and attention so she doesn't feel left out.

Thank you all for your lovely comments it is so great knowing that you are so interested in my rescue stories. I promise to keep you all updated.

I have nearly finished a card so will try and post that tomorrow. Not getting loads done on the craft front at the moment but after Sunday things should be a bit easier again.

Don't forget to leave a comment on my candy post if you are a follower!!!!.

LOOK WHAT I HAVE GOT!!!!

Hey everyone!!!. I have something very special to share with you tonight. Something that I feel totally privileged to share and to be a part of. Today I had a call from my lovely friend Monica. She is going away for a few days for a much deserved break and I agreed to look after her 4 guinea piggies and she also asked me to look after a 10 week old squirrel which had gone to the centre injured but is now well and thriving. She brought them over to me on Friday so they are really settled now.
Ok so the phone call today went like this "Clare how would you like to look after a 7 day old orphaned hedgehog???" ummmm, like I really needed time to think about this one!!!.

I have never in my life handled anything this young or tiny. I'm sorry the picture's are not great and I will get some better one's tomorrow. I just took them quickly after I fed him. His name is Ben and he was one of 3 babies and the only survivor after their Mummy was poorly and she rejected them. Mum was a very young hedgehog herself and when she was found she was very underweight. She is doing good now though and is recuperating at the centre.

I never thought that I would care for a little creature as small as this and so dependent on another. He is a real little fighter but there is always a chance that he will not survive. I have got to feed him every 2 hours day and night but if this little fella has any chance that is not going to be a hard job for me.

I am going to do another post tomorrow to share more pic's of the little one's I am caring for and give you an update on Harry the hedgehog which you have been asking after.

Right nearly time to feed little Ben again!!!.

Thanks for stopping by.
