LORRAINE'S CHRISTMAS CARD CLUB CHALLENGE

Hi there everyone. Well what a miserable day it has been, although it is definitely good for my garden which was beginning to look like the Sahara Desert!. I had another casualty this afternoon, a poorly pigeon. I went out to throw some nuts and seed out to the growing flock outside and I noticed this one was acting peculiarly, almost as if he was dazed and rather wobbly on his feet. I kept an eye on him and after a while I walked over to him and he allowed me to pick him up. This is a sure sign that something isn't right. I brought him in, dried him off and popped him into the carrier. Poor little thing just sat huddled and kept closing his eyes.
I decided to ring the rescue centre for advice and after chatting with them they decided to send someone out to collect him. After examining him we suspect he may have hit a window or crashed into something. There is nothing visible but he was very cold and unresponsive, as though he doesn't care what anyone does to him. They took him off and they will bring him back when he is recovered.
I am definitely starting to feel like an animal whisperer lol!!!. It is strange as I had been doing my housework and was in the kitchen and one of the pigeons flew onto the fence outside the kitchen window. It was only because of that that I decided to go throw more food out for them at that time as I felt sorry for the pigeon!!!. If I had not I may not have seen the poorly pigeon. Fate?????.

Anyway enough waffling. The lovely Lorraine picked this past fortnight's challenge for the Christmas Card Club. The theme was to use a sentiment as the focal point of the card. Although I was late getting my card done I ended up making 3 cards!!!. They are not spectacular but another three to add to my expanding supply.

I really love this sentiment stamp and used it for all three cards. The stamp is from a fantastic company called Stamping all Day. They sell awesome sentiment stamps and I have a few now. The yummy backing paper on the last two cards are by Imaginisce.

Go check out the other girls cards which are listed on my side bar. If you are interested in joining our Christmas club just email me or one of the girls for information.

Right must get back to the craft room as got a few cards to make.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you enter my candy give away which is a £25 voucher. All you need to do is be a follower and add a comment to the allocated post.

Big hugs Clare xxx

  4. I really like the background papers in the second two, but I love the boldness of the red on the first one. It really shows off the stars and that red/white twine!

  9. Love the card Clare, those little tags are so cute. God must surely be looking out for the animals around you as he keeps sending the sickly ones your way.

  10. What a gorgeous sentiment that is! I think my favourite of the three is the first - the tag stands out so well against the red. Now my dear, is there any animal near Eastbourne that you haven't rescued???!!! xx
