A Wild Rose Studio Card & Hegieville Memoirs News

This is the first time i have used this very cute stamp from Wild Rose Studio. I really love their stamps as they stamp out so beautifully & their images are so clearly defined.

I have used some really cute papers from Papermania which is the co-ordinating paper collection of Honey & Hugs.
I have stamped the whole image onto plain coloured papers and used my embossing tool to mould the papers to give it dimension. I have used my trusted silicone, thank heavens it is repositionable!!! I have added some bling & Glossy Accents to finish the card off.

HEDGEVILLE MEMOIRS

Sorry it has been a while since my last update but sadly it looks like Ernie & Minnie have moved on to another habitat. All had been fairly quiet but, cue Stan & Lola!!!.

Ok i know you will all be asking, how the hell does she know these are two new hedgies? well for starters they are about half the size of Ernie & Minnie & those two had a few defining features. I also know these are definitely male & female with the amount of humping that has been going on betweek the two most evenings!!!.

A few nights ago hubster went to the loo and came out saying he could hear strange noises outside the toilet window. The toilet is right next to the front door so we both sneaked outside with torch in hand and this was what we found.

LOLA WAS THE FIRST SIGHT WE SAW WHEN WE OPENED THE FRONT DOOR
 LOLA
POOR LITTLE LOLA WITH HER FACE PRESSED TO THE GROUND, CAN'T THINK WHY!!!
THIS IS STAN WHO HAD LEGGED IT TOWARDS THE BACK GATE UNTIL HE FOUND HE COULD NOT GET UNDER IT!!!
STAN FANCYING HIS CHANCES AGAIN, TYPICAL BLOKE!!!

So it is definitely mating season in hedgieland. Aparently it all starts up again in July after the first litter of hoglets have arrived. Just found out there are two mating & birthing cycles in a matter of 6 months for our little spikey friends!!!. Oh boy i would imagine 9 months is bad enough for women but hedgies give birth between 35-40 days! The funniest thing i did find out though is that the female hedgie can play hard to get for days & even has her suitors fighting over her and then she may just walk away! the good news is also that if she changes her mind she can just raise her spikes, that's what i call hedgie girl power!!!

Will be back soon with more creations. Thanks for popping by.

Lots of hugs Clare xxx

  1. Could Ernie and Millie have gone on their honeymoon and will be back later? Love your card and the way you have used your embossing tool on the image and shaped it, it really makes it pop of the page! Tracey x

  2. You sound like a little ol' romantic like me Tracey!!! It is weird as even though the hedgies are "wild" creatures i always worry about their welfare even though they were just fine before i ever realised they lived around us.
We have started having a little black cat that has been coming every evening when i put out the fox food. He/she is such a scared little thing & am wondering if it is homeless. He scoff's the food up but funnily enough he completely leaves the hedgie food alone. All i think is that he is getting a nice big meal every day. Oh & by the way Mr.Fox gets his food now before bed time as he seems to come very late. Hugs Clare xxx

  4. Wish I had spikes!

Gorgeous card Miss Clare, that is the cutest stamp ever!

That's a bit sad about Ernie and Millie leaving as I was enjoying their antics. However, it seems like the understudy's have stepped in which will be exciting getting to know them.

Sad to hear that Ernie and Millie have gone AWOL but great that you've got 2 new little ones to feed! Look forward to the next instalment!

  8. The card is gorgeous! Love the dimension and the image is so adorable. Great coloring too! And that hedgehog is just adorable! I just want to hug it, but I bet that wouldn't be a very good idea with the quills huh? LOL Best, Curt
